2013 AIDC Highlight - Key Address with Tanya Denning

Tanya Denning shares her views on how the Aboriginal and Torres Straight islander people have historically been portrayed through film and media. She explains how the establishment of National Indigenous Television operated by indigenous Australians marks the beginning of a new era.

Tanya is the Channel Manager for NITV. NITV is one of Australia's newest free-to-air channels made by, for and about Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander people - a channel for all Australians.

She also answers questions for the audience, and explains how non-indigeous producers can work with NITV.
