DocExchange User Guide

Do you have a Premium DocExchange Account but can't remember how to update your profile, or not sure about the full functions of DocExchange. This guide is for you.

Sign into your account on the top right hand side of the screen and then click the DocExchange icon to return to this page. If you have forgotten your password, click here.

Have you changed your email address?

If you need to change the email address of your DocExchange profile, then please email us with the details. We will make the change on your behalf and get back to you as soon as possible.

It is important to keep your email address up to date as this helps other members and AIDC staff to keep in touch with you.

How to Update Your Profile

Have you changed organisation or position, and need to update your profile?

Sign-in to DocExchange
Click My Profile on the right hand side menu
Click the Settings button beneath your photo
Make any necessary changes to your profile details and click the Update button at the bottom of the form to save your changes.

Forgot Your Sign-in

To sign in to DocExchange you need your email address and password. Use the original email address that you used to create your profile. If you have forgotten your password you can reset it by clicking here.

Post your own News

My News is a great way to market yourself to other members of DocExchange. Post news relating to your current projects, your current travels, current screenings, who you are collaborating with, what you are doing... Any news that may be of interest to your Connections and other DocExchange members.

Sign-in to DocExchange
Click My Profile on the left hand side navigation menu
Click the My News button
Click the Create Post button
Enter the Title and Body of your post, and include any tags that might assist people find your post when searching DocExchange
When you are ready to share your news change the status to Published and click Create Post.

Read the Industry Wire

DocExchange provides a single destination for the latest news and events within the Australian and international documentary scene.

Sign-in to DocExchange
Click Industry Wire on the left hand side navigation menu

View other members

There are currently over 1400 members on DocExchange from over 20 Countries. Browse the profiles of other members and find others who you would like to connect with.

Click Members on the left hand side navigation menu
Members are listed in alphabetical order by surname
Use the search function on top right hand side of the screen to filter the members

Click on the photo to read their biography and view profile (make sure you are signed in - top right hand side of screen)

Send Messages/Emails to Other Members

Premium account holders can contact other Premium account holders of DocExchange. All messages are delivered to the members personal inbox as well as their DocExchange inbox.

Sign-in to DocExchange
Click Members on left hand side navigation menu
Click on the photo of the DocExchange member you wish to message
Click Send Message button (this will appear beneath their photo if they are a Premium DocExchange member)
Enter the subject and body of your message (you will notice that you are now on your own profile page, in your Inbox
Click Send

To view sent messages

When on your own profile page click the Inbox button

View and Join Groups

Groups are a great way to start discussions with other DocExchange members. You can join a public group, or create your own group and invite other members to join.

Sign in to DocExchange
Click Groups on the left hand side navigation menu
Browse the list of groups and click on the image for more information
Click Join Group button beneath group image

As a member of a group you can view the discussions, post comments, start discussions, send a group message, contact other members, etc.

Join in a Discussion

You can join a discussion with other DocExchange members, and post your comments related to Groups or Talks.

Sign in on the top right hand side of the screen
Click Talks on the left hand side navigation menu
Click View/Listen button on Talk that is of interest to you
Click Discussion button on right hand side beneath photo
Post your comment and click Comment button
