Born in Nairobi, Kenya, Producer/Director Trevor Almeida immigrated to Australia as a child in the 1970’s. He trained as an environmental scientist and experimented with film and radio plays while at university. It was at a film festival that he discovered the power of documentary. He attained his grounding in film by participating in short courses and film appreciation groups. His first film ‘EE Bwana’ was experimental and looked at spiritual music of Mozambique refugees living on the Kenyan border. While living in Japan he worked with 100 Meter Films on award winning feature and short film projects. He now runs Geonewmedia a production company that produces scientific and technical new media, educational films, and documentaries.

<short-bio>Thom Beers’ passion for honoring every day heroes and his gift for telling their stories has firmly established his non-fiction brand, Original Productions, as television’s number one creator of honest-to-goodness unscripted reality programming.

The driving force behind the Primetime Emmy® winning “Deadliest Catch,” and “Ice Road Truckers,” and top-rated shows, “Monster Garage,” and “Black Gold”, Beers has created a unique brand of television programming featuring unheralded heroes in high risk, high reward situations. His catalogue of more than 40 series is firmly entrenched across cable powerhouses Discovery Communications Networks, History, WeTV, SPIKE TV, The National Geographic Channel, TruTV and TLC among others.

Beers believes viewers are tired of customary reality programming fare. “Audiences are asking for something that’s real. They want to watch real people, having actual life experiences, facing true challenges,” says Beers. “And that’s what we give them. Real heroes from real life.”</short-bio>

<short-bio>A childhood without TV led to a habit of reading Tintin under the covers after being told to go to bed, which subsequently led to a fascination with the world at large and a life of travel. From volunteering in the Amazon to cycling in western China, Benj’s travels have spurred a lust for discovering cultures, places, people, and stories which, over the years he has relayed through writing, photography and film. Whilst working on the Trans-Siberian in 2004, he stumbled into a Mongolian nightclub bouncing to local hip hop and since 2007 has been working on Mongolian Bling, his first really big doco. When his mum has her way, he lives in Australia. Needless to say, she doesn’t have her way very often.</short-bio>
